Youth Care International was founded based on compassion for the needed and the less privileged youth/children around the world. It was in 2009 when Pastors Matthew and Patience Cephus with a team left the United States on a mission trip to West Africa. We saw many kids roaming the streets particularly in Liberia who were not in school because of poverty. They had nothing to wear, no food to eat, and no good shelter. Our hearts began to bleed with compassion when we also saw children (boys and girls) sitting in the heat of the sun all day crushing rocks with bare hands to sell, just to survive. Most teenage girls who lost their parents in the past civil war and others who are struggling with hardship engaged in prostitution to feed themselves and their family members. Since then, Youth Care International was birthed. We’ve decided not to fold our hands and let these youths be swallowed up by these circumstances. Every year we sent out donations, school supplies and foods. We also host free training camps/workshops each year where we teach 250 youth/children on various educational topics that will better their lives. We also feed them three times a day while on camp for 4 days.
